Magical Middle Grade Book Club

Join us for Magical Middle Grade Book Club on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 4pm. Magical Middle Grade is best suited to readers aged 7-12 years old. Please see the event description for more info!

This month, we are reading The Puppets of Spelhorst by Kate DiCamillo - a fairytale-like, intriguing story following the journey of five puppets who end up far away from home...

Ally, our Kids Manager will begin the Book Club by reading a chapter or two from the book. Yep, that's right, no need to read the book in advance, just turn up on the day! Ally will then conduct a short activity based on what has been covered in the chapters, be that a group discussion, craft activity or writing exercise. The Book Club will run for about 45mins to an hour from start to finish.

We recommend that grownups stay with their child during Book Club, however you are welcome to go and grab a coffee and meet us at the end of the session.

Book Clubs at Better Read Kids are free of charge. We simply ask that you RSVP here on the website so that we know how many people to expect (and can provide drinks and snacks accordingly)!
